Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 11, 2026

These Terms of Use and Privacy Policy explain how the site handles photos submitted by the public. The site is intended to help document vehicles that appear to be blocking, parked in, or occupying bike lanes.

By submitting a photo, you agree to these terms.

1. Your submission

When you submit a photo, you confirm that:

2. Prohibited submissions

You may not submit photos or information for the purpose of harassment, stalking, doxxing, threats, intimidation, discrimination, revenge, or public shaming of a specific person.

You may not submit:

3. Faces, plates, and identifying information

The site may use automated and/or human review tools to detect and blur faces, license plates, and other identifying information.

The site currently attempts to blur visible faces before publication. The site may also blur license plates, reject photos where plates are not detected clearly enough, or use plate detection only for internal review and validation.

Automated tools are imperfect. If you believe a photo contains identifying information that should be removed, please contact us using the removal request process described below.

4. Our right to review, edit, reject, or remove submissions

Submitting a photo does not guarantee that it will be published.

The site may, at its discretion:

The site is not required to explain individual moderation decisions.

5. License you grant the site

By submitting a photo or related information, you grant the site a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, publish, modify, blur, crop, moderate, remove, analyze, and otherwise use the submission for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the service.

This license includes permission to share submissions, where appropriate, with municipal agencies, public reporting systems, or transportation departments, provided that the site may limit, blur, redact, or decline such sharing where it believes that is appropriate. The site will not share submissions where it believes doing so would be unsafe or inappropriate.

You continue to own any rights you have in your photo.

6. No guarantee of enforcement or accuracy

The site is not a law enforcement agency and does not determine guilt, liability, ticketing, or legal responsibility.

A published photo means only that a user submitted a photo that appears to show a vehicle in or near a bike lane. It does not necessarily mean that a law was violated, that the vehicle owner was driving, or that any particular person did anything wrong.

7. Information we collect

When you submit a photo, the site may collect:

The site may also collect limited analytics information about how the app or website is used.

8. Photo metadata

Photos may contain embedded metadata, such as camera type, timestamp, or location data. The site may remove or reduce metadata before publication, but may retain some metadata internally for moderation, abuse prevention, security, debugging, or reporting purposes.

9. How long we keep information

The site receives images with blurred faces; but retains the original image of the plate. We may keep original uploads, unblurred versions, rejected submissions, metadata, logs, and moderation records for an unlimited period.

10. Sharing the data.

The site may share submissions or reports with municipal agencies, 311 systems, transportation departments, advocacy organizations, or other partners at our sole discretion. The amount we share publicly is subject to change at our sole discretion.

11. Abuse prevention and safety

Because submissions may be anonymous or submitted without an account, the site may use technical measures to prevent abuse, spam, harassment, fraud, repeated false submissions, or attacks on the service.

These measures may include rate limits, automated review, IP-based restrictions, device or browser signals, duplicate detection, manual moderation, and temporary or permanent blocking of abusive submission patterns. You make no guarantee of enforcement or accuracy, or your ability to use the site at any time.

12. Removal requests

You may request removal or redaction of a published submission by contacting us at info@loudbicycle.com with a direct link to the image you would like to have removed.

The site may remove, blur, crop, or decline to remove content depending on the circumstances. The site will make a good-faith effort to review reasonable privacy, safety, and accuracy concerns.

13. Children and sensitive information

Do not submit photos focused on children. Do not submit photos that reveal private, sensitive, or personal information unrelated to the bike-lane issue.

If the site becomes aware that a submission unnecessarily identifies a child or reveals sensitive private information, it may remove or redact it.

14. Changes to these terms

The site may update these Terms of Use and Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page, with a new “Last updated” date.

15. Contact
